NISM Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is a regulatory mechanism created by SEBI enabling certificate holders to refresh their industry knowledge and renew their 3-year certificate validity without having to sit for the high-stress, negative-marked full examination.

Who is Eligible for NISM CPE & e-CPE?

You qualify for NISM CPE under one of the following eligibility categories:

  1. General Category (Current Certificate Holders): You hold a valid NISM certificate in that series which is expiring within the next 12 months, or has expired within the past 12 months.
  2. Grandfathered Principal Category: Individuals who have attained the age of 50 years OR have at least 10 years of continuous working experience in the relevant securities industry as of the notification date.

Classroom CPE vs Online e-CPE: Which is Better?

NISM offers two distinct CPE delivery channels:

1. Online e-CPE (Recommended for Working Professionals)

  • Format: Self-paced online video modules with periodic knowledge check questions.
  • Convenience: Attend from your home or office on any laptop with a webcam.
  • Duration: Approximately 5 to 6 hours of structured video content.
  • Proctoring: AI facial verification to ensure the registered candidate is watching the video lectures.

2. Classroom CPE

  • Format: 1-day physical interactive seminar conducted by accredited NISM CPE Trainers.
  • Venue: Designated training halls in major metro cities.
  • Timings: 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (mandatory full attendance).
